In the movie the prestige both the characters you're introduced to at beginning of the movie are dead at the end, both replaced by doppelgangers, the twin and the imposter. The film is then a study of the illusion of persona, Telsa is both a magician and a fake as the teleport machine does not work (but spooky action at a distance does exist, as shown by the light bulbs in the field).
In Inception Leonardo DiCaprio's character is still asleep at the end of the film. His wife is awake having solved the labyrinth, she realises its form and projects herself back into it in another identity that of Ariadne the guide.
The function of the Joker in the dark Knight movie is to challenge predominant versions of morality. The Joker rejects monetarism and embraces anarchy and thus can only be challenged outside the status quo by batman who represents primal law rather than the law of consensus which is erroneous.
In Memento time folds backwards and forwards stressing hidden certainty. The certainty when dualism folds back on its self to create non-duality.
