Some thing ties you still
and you must guess, you feel
a thread stretching, while
it's there you are sealed
in the past. He says box it
put it near your feet
tie it up with string, shout.
You know you can't, not yet.
It's a brown paper package. Stringed
like in a song you sang
to the children. Favourite thing.
This one though: how you longed
how you let your longing win.
Bleak days on beaches, phone
calls, conversation. It's been
your life. Now it is done.
