The Carnival Of The Owls

Barn owls must hold a carnival
in the forests late at night.
That’s why barn owls wear cloaks and cowls
and pretty masks of white.
One owl puffs out his chest and croons
a melancholy opera tune
and they dance under the owl eyed moon
while it is shining bright.
