CCTV times – Flash Fiction

Camera 1 shows a peaceful summer garden; little birds hanging onto the bird feeder; pretty flowers waving to me in the breeze; a blue sky and a bright sun.
Camera 2 shows lovely peach trees waving their pink blossom scattering branches.
I turn up the volume on the camera microphone and listen to the merrily whistling blackbird.
“Smile, Mother Nature. You’re on TV”, I think.
She doesn’t seem very interested. She’s already the star of many TV Nature documentaries and epic movies with majestic vistas.
Funny. We bought these CCTV camera’s to guard us against intruders; the unhappy side of life but they let in the bright things too; the things we should really keep an eye on; guard and treasure.
