A dormouse, enormous

A dormouse, enormous
came knocking on my door
and asked,
"Please can I stay with you
until the Springtime thaw?".

 

I was afraid what it might do
if it became a grouch
so now it's in my bed, its true.
I'm sleeping on the couch.
