The knight sat beneath the empty tower, confused and miserable; his horse beside him, resting its weary hooves.
Princess Godot, that he had gone on a great quest to free from the tower had escaped by herself and now he wasn't sure what he was supposed to do.
"Modern princess's", said his horse, sympathetically,"What can you do? They don't need saving anymore. They can save themselves".
"But without a princess to save, I have no quest", said the knight, "No point to my existence. Thats what knights are for, isn't it? Saving a damsel in distress, marrying her and living happily ever after".
"Well perhaps theres another princess somewhere who needs saving", said his horse.
"And what if there isn't", said the knight, "What if every tower, when I arrive, is empty; every sleeping beauty awoken. What am I to do then?"
Just then however the horse had an idea.
"I know something you can quest for", it said, "A really difficult hard to find thing aswell".
"What?", asked the night.
"Another reason for existing", said the horse.
And so the knight got back into the saddle. Maybe there were no more princess's to save but he was determined he would go on riding, searching and fighting until he had found a new meaning to his life.
