Across the frosty, moonlit air
a graceful fairy skates;
whizzing and whirling here and there;
forming figures of eight.
A triple salchow; double lutz
and toe-loop on the moon
then off at startling speed she shoots
whistling a Christmas tune.
From house to house this fairy glides;
snow-capped rooftops, her ramps
and, passing windows, peers inside
at sleeping little scamps.
She checks, you see, if girls and boys
are being good or not
so Santa doesn’t bring his toys
down the wrong chimney pots.

My daughter was a skater and I think she'd love this, as do I.
