The Hedgehog who loved a pinecone

Once, a little hedgehog
loved a pretty pinecone,
thinking her a hedgehog too.

“Pretty little hedgehog”,
he said to the pinecone,
“May I have a date with you?”.

The pinecone gave no reply
so the hedgehog thought her shy
and, one by one, her prickles, he did kiss.

“I don’t mind”, the hedgehog said,
“If you don’t speak. Just nod your head
and we will get on fine, my hedgehog miss”.
