How loud it is, love’s music;
it’s deafening to our ears;
how strange then that it’s music
only we two can hear.

And oh how bright love’s lustre;
like a star in the sky
yet it’s a glow that just a-
ppears to you and I.

If only we could share this
singing, shining thing inside
then everywhere there’d be bliss;
light and music, the whole world wide.

new well-wisher What a wonderful power of love. Especially the last verse too. If only we could share this singing,shining thing inside then everywhere there'd be bliss; light and music,the whole world wide with a hug and a kiss. Strange as I go too 'Singing for Pleasure' year now,over 280 in groups that were,started by Music Director Conductor,Simon Gray'teaches plays coaches,for us,all kind of music no music sheet words,and pronouncing of some languages. Four venues now. Proved by GP's like you say,Singing is great for,anxiety,depression,and pain. Breathing. I've done my back in old injury,cleaning windows. Hoovering,spring cleaning,so no more "When I'm Cleaning Windows" song,definitely not. But have a week's break,may go back next week,but low train seats,bus know good at moment,improving. The warm up sessions have fun,into songs,then opera after. It is getting heavy to carry,have a wheeler,lifting. Beautiful sunny day,bit of nip in the air. Thank-you wonderful mention,your work,so many since I tried,on abcTales A-Z thank since 2009. hope you are well. Mine mainly on nature I see,fiction,and experiences true! in life or family,some non fiction,can't always write as want it come out! Know what I mean. Like computer Ray does awkward bits for me copy,what want anything done! Age! Well The Light is a spiritual thing. Music Be The Food Of Life then play on! have a good week-end. julie x

Thank you, julie. Yes, I agree about singing for pleasure. Unfortunately, people are discouraged early on from singing by music teachers and all the 'you should only sing if you can sing well' brigade. I remember me and a friend of mine were singing together once and, in the middle of it, a woman in a group nearby, an alpha female of song, started to sing like Heather Small or Mariah Carey with lots of melisma, it was a way of 'putting us in our place'; of making us keep silent. Modern talent shows like X factor encourage this belief that a special few have a monopoly on self-expression; we are encouraged, as in an Orwellian 'hate session', to join in the mockery of contestants who sing out of tune and see them as fools with ideas above their station. Fortunately, ABCtales gives a voice to all those who would otherwise be discouraged from speaking; singing with words whether they sing like an angel or just make a dreadful cacophony aslong as they speak honestly and from the heart what they believe. Very glad you enjoyed my poem.

new well-wisher I know exactly what you mean. Can be in all things subjects. Not in this we all make one voice,no one is better than anyone. When if I make mistake note! not called out by name good. But there is always some one somewhere,may think they are bit better,or people act stern voice. Or years ago know you,have get back at you,even in day centre or what a group may have joined,they do! May join in it start off! best to ignore them. Knew my belated mum they did,say I remember her tempers,They don;t think of themselves. She loved sing late in life! Very good voice. Because it is very off putting,they think know your family,course they do not,how can they do it. Been garden today cushions,paper sun wow! Do know what you mean,experienced once not well,BGT They came as well,acted if never knew you! Pestered me week before,what wear,what song,unnerves one. Silly me told them of it in paper! No wonder said hit top notes good,very nervous,read out poem "Green Eyes! Sung back track had to have,came in wrong time. Daughter and mine took me by car. Hearing aid not good. Mic didn't come out stand like all had handed,so talked judges without awkward. Sorry! mean't from you thanks mention of me. Must read more of yours,and all lot missed. julie julie x
