The Little Autumn Leaf
By well-wisher
- 737 reads
It was one windy Autumn day
a little brown leaf blew away;
waved goodbye to its family
and flew off of a maple tree.
Then blew across the sea to France
and there it saw a village dance,
in which dancers would twirl and spin
and, whirling round, the leaf joined in.
But suddenly that little leaf
was whisked away to Italy;
to Venice he did wander where
he met a cheerful gondolier.
But then the wind blew hard again;
that little leaf flew off to Spain
and there it danced under the stars
while Gypsy’s played on their guitars.
But then it blew to Switzerland
where a girl caught it in her hand.
“You are a pretty leaf”, said she,
“Why don’t you come and live with me”.
