- If people want to give their money to mediums and fortune tellers, astrologers and faith healers then, so be it, that’s their right.
- However, if those mediums and fortune tellers, astrologers and faith healers are working for the state then all the money (apart from their wages) will go back to the state and so it can at least be put to good use.
- Why is this a good economic idea? : Quackery and Charlatanism is a low cost, high yield industry; you don’t need to put much money into it but you can get a lot of money out. For example, filling up bottles with tap water and claiming its healing water then charging the price of a bottle of expensive perfume.
- Should a state con its people?: If they don't give it to state employed charlatans they’ll give it to private charlatans, better that their money isn’t just wasted and is put back into the nation/community.
Confection Idea: Caramel and/or Chocolate Coated Corn Snacks
Chocolate coated what?: The corn snacks usually covered in savoury powder and served as a savoury snack like crisps/potato chips. Why not, instead of covering them in savoury flavouring, cover them in caramelized sugar and chocolate instead.
Think of all your favourite corn snacks, like Wotsits and Monster Munch without the savoury flavouring but covered in caramelized sugar and chocolate and you’ll see what I mean.
Why corn snacks? – Firstly, wafer biscuits used in sweet manufacturing already contain similar ingredients to corn snacks. Secondly, corn snacks, such as wotsits, are soft and crumbly; just the right texture, I think, for a chocolate snack. Thirdly, people eat sweet popcorn; chocolate coated rice crispy treats (and rice crispies, which have a similar texture to corn snacks, are used in some chocolate bars) and people eat cornflakes with sugar so sweet corn snacks are not such a wild idea.
