‘Twas on a chilly Autumn day,
when Scarecrow came to life
and, with his heart made out of hay,
longed for a scarecrow wife.
He built one out of sticks and straw;
a pumpkin for her head.
“I will love you forevermore,
Sweet Pumpkin bride”, he said.
Although the night was very cold,
the wind whistled a tune
and they danced upon leaves of gold
under the bright full moon.
Then by a wise owl they were wed
beneath an old oak tree;
now Scarecrow and Miss Pumpkinhead
are happy as can be.

My daughter (aged 8) said "this is SO cute!". I thought it lovely too - clever rhyming.
