If the soul is nothing more than the brain then it should be possible to create an artificial mind that is truly identical in every way to a human mind (in other words capable of everything that a human mind is capable of).
But if the soul is something else; separate to the brain then it should be impossible to create an artificial mind that is identical in every way to a human mind. Impossible because, however sophisticated your artificial mind is, it would always be missing the vital ingredient of a soul.

Note: I am not talking about an artificial mind that merely replicates the appearance of a human mind and just pretends to think, feel, imagine etcetera but an artificial mind which really does think, feel, imagine etcetera and can be tested to prove that it is thinking, feeling and imagining etcetera.
