Below the stars, all was created
in night-black dampness, out of rains
fermented in the chalice of volcanoes
where fires sprang up, unabated.
Light-plant arrows arrived in swarms,
rock-teeth of mountains grew in motions
far and near, as the twilight drew
the icy unity of the oceans,
created from wounds in the frozen womb,
sullied with shame, conceived in a haze.
Under the gaze of violent skies
the earth opened up and spilled out man.
then let go of him, who shook his wild hair,
stood up and ran and with sparkling eyes
screened the heavens in search of Paradise.
The stars he would conquer and colonize.
