I was
Was latent & unused
Couldn't acknowledge
For four decades
Thought I was wasted
Never admitted it
Though my immediate family
Said it
Did not have the confidence
Did not believe in myself
And inner talents
The cloud removed
Started writing Poetry
Two or three daily
Pleasantly shocked
Inner talent revealed
By the advent of poetry
Surprised my family
Even myself
Quickened my quest
Said to myself
All is not lost
Have a new adventure
New venture
Project involving
Deep contempation
Culminating in Verbal
Gymnastics
Popularly known as poetry
Verbalises my oratory
Ideas come
Not trickling down
Like April showers
But come rushing down
Like torrential rains
Am now content
For being
My normal self
Pleased with myself
Rediscovering my
Inner being
Ready to use and reuse
My hidden skills and talents
In my new quest writing
How do I know I have talents?
Would not have attempted
To be a poet
Might be blowing my own trumpet
But I have my poems
To prove me right
My confidence has soared
In leaps and bounds
Am not being arrogant
But simply narrating
And Sharing my account
