DAWN

Dawn in Massawa
Beautiful resort
In Eritrea
Orange & shy sun
Announcing
Dawn
Is coming
Shy & gentle at first
But at noon cruel,
Daring & burning
Comes dawn
Feeding my soul
Eyes wide open
With delight
Beautiful sight
Quenches the spirit
Dawn
At the beginning
Of the day
Every day
Greets me
With a smiling
Innocent
Orange sun,shy
Peeps gradually
And gracefully
Descends
On the horizon
Shining
reflecting
And refracting
It's delicious
Light
Gives extreme
Delight
Its rays
Spreads like
Golden wings
On the sea
Sandy beaches
Augurs peace
Tranquility
Delight
Pleasing
To my sight
Some go to pray
For blessing
Of the day
For daily meal
A piece of bread
Some
Splash or swim
Or like me do
Doggy puddle
Yet some dive
In the cold
Blue, clear sea
Others play ball
In the sandy beach
Don't need to pray
For daily bread
Can afford
Assorted meals
Are ready to show
Their body
Others
Their beauty
Most people
Long for
Just a nice day
How I long for dawn
to Usher
Fresh day
Want the day
To begin
With orange sun
Shy
Announcing
Its presence
And
Received by
Clear blue water
Ready to
Nurture my eyes
Feed my soul
Quench my spirit
Giving me peace
And solace
Dawn refreshes
My mind
Allows me to meditate
And compose
A poem or two
Dawn , turns
To morning
Noon & evening
But my yearning
Is for Dawn
With its beautiful
Shine
Mesmerizing my eyes
Feeding my soul
Quenching my spirit
Trusted Dawn
Unfailingly
Peeps every morning
Unlike the
Noon burning sun
Inhospitable
Uncaring
The evening comes
With unforgiving
Chilly wind
Dawn sparkles
Greets me
With its customary
Smiles
keeping my mind
At ease
At least for awhile
Giving me peace
Pleasure and
Tranquility
Ultimate reward
Peace of mind
