Our grief depends
On who
Has departed

This sorrwful
Departure
Consumes everyone

But more so
When the person is younger
Potential not realised

On the other hand
Celebtating the
Achievements
Of older people
Reduces the pain
Of their passin'

The Kunama
An ethnic group
In Eritrea
Continue to shower
Respect
To people older

In in death & in life
Grief
Does not end
In the grave

Continues for seven days
Relatives
Friends and neighbours
Bring food & drinks

Tell amazing
Stories & jokes
To console the bereaved
Friendship
That began
When the person was alive
Continues
After they
Have taken their leave

People to relax
And brings
