PAIN THROUGH THE AGES
Have terrible pain
In my head
She said
Was told
Is migraine
Stomach ache
Brings her
Constant pain
Saw her GP
Advised her
To reduce
Alcohol and fat intake
In Africa, Europe,Asia and
Latin America
Even in
The United States
There are people
With
Constant pain
They are
Homeless and jobless
Come from
Various ethnic
Gender and age backgrounds
They are full of despair
And are at
The lowest ladder
There are
Also multitudes of children
Who have aged
With lines on their foreheads
Their pain
Not self-induced
Like the alcoholics or obese
They hardly
Get a meal
A drop of clean water
Or binge drink
No water
To clean themselves or
Shelter above their heads
But are resilient
We see them sweating
Making fashion accessories
For us vain
Slaves of fashion
Let’s think hard
Consider their ages
Appalling working conditions
Her pain self-induced
Compared
To these children
Who lost their dignity
Childhood and innocence
Is nothing
Pain! Pain everywhere
Inflicted on children
World-wide
Slaving away
Earning almost nothing
Not allowed to grow
For they
Have to make us glow
Let’s end this pain
Allow them to be children
Like our own
