SURVIVORS, TELLING THEIR TALES
Even some child soldiers
Abducted
Forced to pillage
Rape and kill
Victims and aggressors
Both combined into one
Have survived
Are here
To tell their tales
Some who survived
Gruesome tortures
Have survived
Are here
To tell their tales
From the killing fields
Of Cambodia
Gangland murders
Of Mexico
Genocide of Rwanda
Some have survived
Are here
To tell their tales
UN soldiers
Could not save the thousands
Massacred in Srebrenica
Yet some have
Miraculously Survived
Are here
To tell their tales
Around the globe
Millions of human lives
Have disappeared
Their bodies
Never discovered
Loved ones can't recover
From the constant pains
They have to endure
Yet some have survived
Pretending to be dead
Though still harbouring guilt
Are here
To tell their tales
Tales so harrowing
Leaves listeners
With constant nightmares
Women, children, old
And young
Cross
Unforgiving
Deserts & hostile borders
Callous seas
To escape persecutions
Thousands
Disappeared or died
Became 'appetisers'
For vultures
Their anonymous skeletons
Scattered far & wide
Though riddled with guilt
Survived
Are here
To tell Their tales
Some have endured Pain
For the loss of loved ones
Despite the pain
Have survived
Are here
To tell their tales
Thousands suffered
Lost their lives 'cos of
Tsunamis , hurricanes
Earthquakes & floods
Some survived
Are here
To tell their tales
Despite their 69 days ordeal
Chilean miners survived
They are out to tell their tales
Exemplary they are
Best example of reselience
Boys and girls kidnaped
Enslaved & brutalised
Some escaped and
Others their freedom bought
By Charitable Organisations
Some have survived
Are here
To tell their tales
From planes,trains
Other terrible crushes
Solitary person
Survives
To tell tales
Some women,raped & humiliated
With permanent scars
Have survived
Are here
To tell their tales
Thousands witnessed
Children, women & old men
Their loved ones
Butchered
In front of them
Though have
Permanent scars & nightmares
Survived
Are here
To tell their tales
Millions around the world
Became disabled
Suffer from acute depression
Yet have survived
To tell their tales
When all these atrocities
Are going on
What has the UN done?
The Five
Permanent Members
Of the Security Council
Seem to be playing chess
With people's lives
Though regretable
Oil spillage around the shore
Would bring global uproar
But not
When human bodies
Are washed ashore
Some survive
To tell their ordeal
Credit is due
To all survivors
I salute and pay homage
To these people of courage
Show our respect
To all those who survived
Despite, humiliation
Dehumanisation & tortures
Lets remember
Brothers and sisters
Who drowned in the Med sea
Lets ascribe respect
To all dead and alive
And
To all survivors
For
Their sacrifice
Humility
Humanity & resilience
