As the years go by
Old people think to themselves,
What will they do, what did I eat for dinner?
We never think of the old, we take them for granted.
They like our visits once a week,
They like their independence.
They like to have hope,
They like our time.
Cos we'll be them soon,
The years go faster now
And now we're them,
And now we're them.
Thinking the same things,
Wanting the same things.
Wishing the same things.
Doing the same things.
We wish we were kinder now,
Take these words, use them as you need.
Remember this will be you one day.

Oh, how true! Like the sentiment; going there at the speed of light, it seems.
