There's a moment when
tears sheen the eyes
but retreat and then
business-like politeness
descends, a carapace.
There's a moment when
I could say the
'right-est' thing, but then
- far too soon - it passes
visibly, in your face.
There's a moment when
the eyes are the
words: but, until then,
slippery lines like these
must coyly take their place.
