Cast off the shroud of death
and don the cloak of love.
Rise from the poppy laden field;
and stroll with me awhile.
March not, with gritted teeth
while evil sheds its glove.
but take my hand of gratitude;
make my reward, your smile.
Listen as the Skylark sings
in blue and cloudless skies
and childrens' laughter skips
playfully on the summer breeze.
For this, you gave your youth,
for these you gave your lives!
Then return to heroes' ether
and with your brothers; rest in peace
