I look over at you,
your shaking hands remembering
the touch of a bayonet.
I pray for you,
to close your grey eyes to the sound
of guns.
I promise you,
the trinket box of brotherhood will
never be forgotten.
I sing to you,
the national anthem against the hum
of the machine gun.
I hold for you,
the poppy wreath entwined with
your memories.
I cry for you,
as the cries of your brothers still
echo across the beaches at sun rise.
I remember you,
as your ageing heart may slow down
and rest with the poppies.
The poppies that bow their heads in
the fields saluting you.
Standing caped with everlasting pride.

Beeme, this piece is really
Beeme, this piece is really touching. Rememberance day piece? If so, then you got your point across in a lovely, sad, sentimental way. Well done, great choice for the name aswell, fits perfectly. I would quote my favorite verse, but the are all fabulous. Just letting you know, I still read your work, just have less time to comment. You're voice in poetry has grown since Jupiter was around. Well done :)I've always loved your poetry and will continue to read yours. I always tell my wife when I really really enjoy your work. She also says your a great writer for your age. x
Take care
Peace

Million well dones on the cherry
On such a very difficult poem
Poppies" to do, so beautifully
done. But you are brilliant so young
poet and can condense all together.
Almost if you lost or knew
someone who died, or injured from wars.
I only thought just now if only all over
the world pray and change whole situation
.
I remember holding a bearer flag is it. when
I was 12 years old at cene'otaph with another
girl from Brit;Red Cross Society then.It was enormous to hold and walk steps I was so short.
Could,t go anywhere this year bug.Last year
stood at one children and elderly man all
his medals took salute and we spoke him
.
"At The Going Down Of The Sun"
And in the early morning to
We will remember them"
and some so young as well
But all someone's loved ones.

This is one of your best Beeme, deceptively simple use of words. Less is definitely more here. Very well deserved cherry. xxx
