Many storeys too high
and some life-stories long,
on the outskirts of Los Boliches,
and going for a song:
a short walk to the Paseo,
and chips in Funky Town.
Albert walks a poodle,
Gladys wears a frown:
they both smoke blue Ducados now
'cos the pension's really down .
Ricky has a moped,
and deals to Spanish boys,
just some skunk and acid,
to pay for adult toys.
Dave sits in front of coffees,
shouting down his phone,
he'd like to sell his Rover,
but he wouldn't have a home.
Second-line apartments
and second-rate lives,
husbands trapped with strangers
or maybe just their wives.
It's a short walk off the jetty,
to drown in Funky Town.
