Fighting for the earth

Once, an ironless, earthbound warrior,
fights to keep the mud from her mouth,
the very land of her beloved the earth
that she will be fighting for,
arching up to breath the air
& feeling mostly heavy rain.
Once a fearsome soldier,
worth the earths embrace,
feel steady bark so close,
only an arms reach away.
Once her muscles get too weak,
the fire drained from her veins,
landslides pull her hair down,
rushing away with her head.
Once wild eyes won't open anymore,
heart will almost leave hope below.
If a hand grasp her, stong & gentle,
then feel the cloak of death slip off her shoulders,
maybe a hand behind her back,
perhaps a sudden injection of life,
then lift her above the air,
& rain.
Soft wet cloth, her eyes feel,
then sees a hero of an angel.
