Artery severed
From the mother
Who tore it?
As none other
Who ripped it?
Asunder
Was it you? Was it me?
By whose hand and in vain
Now blood spills
And in pain
Silent writhing
Undue shame
Just to boil
Precious contents
Put each barrel
Into pockets
Trading changers
Live to shock us
To deny the truth
And block us
Where to go?
What to do?
Must we wreck our mother too?
The only one we ever knew
They swear to love
But only slew

I'm not sure if I've entirely grasped the meaning of this poem, however I love the force of pace and rhythm and the element of violence
