IT WAS JUST A DREAM

I had this dream, that I just had to tell you about.
I was soaring through the air on a body board,
across the blue ocean. I could see tiny dots, that
were people surfing on the waves below me.
Rising upwards it wasn't at all cold, the sky was
as blue as the ocean, not a cloud could I see.
Leaning to the left, I spied land. Floating freely down to the ground, I landed in a city. I walked until I came to a building, that I knew I had to go into. There was a queue of people, so I
stood in line. When I finally reached the counter,
the lady said,
"passport please."
I said,
"I don't have one."
Then she said,
"Well sorry, I'll have to arrest you for being
here without one."
I started to walk out, but then I woke up.
'Thank goodness.'

Hi pea, I know why I dreamt this. I have been using the Google Map Site, going to different places in America, it's amazing you can travel down streets, go to different parts, without even leaving your seat. You don't even need a passport. Ha Ha! It must of stuck in my mind, as I was on the google map last night. So there is my interpretation. Jenny.

flying dreams are the best - i think its interpreted as a need for freedom but don't quote me. Liked the little tale though. ;)

Hi Darkenwolf, I'm addicted to the google map of America, my son thinks I'm mad, but I think it's better than studying maps, because you can actually travel to places, down roads, that you would never get to travel down, inless you actually went to the country. I am sure that is why I dreamt it. Last night I went to California, along this costal road called 6880 Palos Verdes Drive, Rancho Palos Verdes, California. It's absolutely beautiful. I can Imagine it's very hot, because the sun is so big, and so bright. Well thanks again for your comment. Jenny.

dear Jen you inspired me to check out google maps and it is fantastic. All the places you can go. I went for a walk down Portobello Road and on the street I lived as a youngster in Sydney and I could see the house we used to live in; the window of my bedroom and all. Incredible !! Thank you for the inspriation. Maybe I could write about it as well ;) ? pia

Hi Pia, Sorry I have taken so long to get back, hope you get this comment. It was lovely to know that you found your house you used to live in, and it is so much fun to go down streets that you would probably never get the chance to in real life. I have also seen the house that I used to live in as well. It's amazing the photo's of places that you can't actually travel down, like in Africa and Asia, and even photo's of the rain forest. Anyway Pia, so glad that I enspired you. Jenny.

I have google earth as well- just haven't figured it out yet- but am looking forward to it. Is that where you can go to the rain forest? I have visited the pyramids though and seen back streets in Mexico. Fantastic. I'll never be able to go those places in my life. May visit Marocco again as I was there in a combi with my hippy friends way back in the early 70's. ;D We started out from Ladbrook Grove !!! pia ;)

Pia, that sounds absolutely wonderful, to revisit a place, that holds so many happy memories for you. I just think looking at the Google Map, is actually helping me with my geography, which believe it or not I never had the chance of taking when I was in school, it's alot better than looking at some plain old map aswell. Hi yassin, why thankyou very much, it's very kind of you comment on this piece, sorry I have only just got around to reading your comment. I have thought about getting a dream book, but when I am out I keep forgetting, that's an idea get a diary and write my dreams down, you never know a story might come out of it. Thanks again. That's a wonderful dream. If you will permit me, I will attempt an interpretation. You have been "surfing" the web using Google Map. You feel like you've travelled the whole United States, maybe the Whole World. You feel like you are a superior "surfer" because you are "surfing" the World Wide Web (in the air as opposed to the waves). The surfers on the waves look like insignificant dots. At the same time, perhaps your identity feels constrained by this new interest in America. America is a wonderfully complex and diverse country that suffers from the dumbing down of America and common superficiality. "Passport please." I think your artistic side wants to expand and learn about America. At the same time, you must know your limits.

Hi Steve, thankyou for your wonderful insight into my dream, you are really quite clever at this, and do you know I do have a fascination for America, always have. I often feel like I lived there in another life, but that's another story. Thankyou for letting me know, you've definitely brought the reason I dreamt this into reality. The Northeast is very friendly toward the English. I assume that you are Engish. NO? It doesn't seem that way at first but we love the English. California has a fascination with the crushing English Humor and of course English actresses who are the finest actresses in the world. I really don't understand the South's attitude toward England. The South is still mainly controlled by the WASPS who are distant cousins of the English.

Hi Steve, yes I am English, but the only place I've visited in America, is Florida when we spent a month there, actually I've been twice and loved it, but I was much younger then, now I don't know if I could stand the heat. My favourite trip was a trip up the River Glades, we saw some Manatees, sorry if I spelt them wrong. My son got to swim with some baby alligators, he learnt to swim in America and also diving and underwater swimming. The Northeast sounds really nice, I assume it's more in the country, being the North. Who are the WASPS? never heard of them. Jenny.

WASPS are White-Anglo-Saxon-Protestants. They never really assimilated into American culture and kept many of their upper-class habits which are derived from Old England? In the 60's and 70's, with the cultural revolutions, they lost alot of power in popular culture, but there are still many influential WASPS in high culture. George Bush is considered a WASP and so are many cultural theories, contemporary philosophers, media commentators. The founder of the conservative party, William F. Buckley Jr. is the prototypical WASP with a dashing wit and an often ironic view of liberals, although he was technically a Catholic.
