My 59 minute friend

I have a friend I telephone
We have a lot in common
Once we’ve started chatting
The talk goes on and on

We talk about our children
We talk about our friends
We just keep on going
The chatter never ends

But why fifty nine minutes
I hear you asking me
Well I have a special contract
And get my phone calls free

But the calls are only for one hour
And then the blighters charge
So I stop before the hour is up
Now the answer’s written large

I really have to go now
The reason’s plain to see
But I’ll ring back in ten seconds
Then have another hour for free.
