She Wanted Hollywood

Lipstick in hand
Tahitian tanned
In her painted on jeans
Feeling so grand
She dreams of fame
Even changed her name
To one that fits,
For the movie game
She wanted Tinseltown
Chased it like a Greyhound
Audition after 'dition
Wanted to do her family proud
Until one cold night
She could no longer take it
She wanted the spotlight
Promised that she'd make it
She put on a fancy dress
Cried in great distress
If she couldn't win
Then nobody would be the best
Hollywood had denied her
The producers had despised her
She locked her bedroom door
So that nobody could find her
She took a sharp knife
Then took a deep breath
She wanted to end her life
'Cause there was nothin' left
Nothing more she could want, acting was her plan
She wanted Hollywood, she wanted it bad
Always thought her destiny was the silver screen
Yet, this young girl was just thirteen
