Do not cry my beloved child
when soft as an angel's touch
as light as a feather,
those delicate tiny fingers
that I hold in my hand,
do not fear or be afraid,
always be open and aware
to the beauty around you,
I say to you my precious one
that as you grow
learn to have fun,
but if you should
fall upon hard times
have courage, determination
and peace of mind,
strive for what you
believe to be right
and let your imagination
take you places,
that one day
you can share with the world,
but in all this
be true to yourself,
always trust that I'm here
even when death takes me.

This is so beautiful Jenny;-)
Just a wee typo. Second line 'angels' needs an apostrophe I.e. angel's.
This stanza, my favourite:-
"strive for what you
believe to be right
and let your imagination
take you places,
that one day
you can share with the world,"
Tina;-)

a nice, sincere poem. My ex is expecting my 2nd son soon, so I'm interested in the topic just now.
