Cackling laughter wheeling down cracks of sky
A scavenger, a thief -
A nonconformist sheep bereft of shepherd.
Surveying its pitiful world with a greedy gaze
Alighting on morsels.
Then tumbles down, horizontally vertical
Perfectly parallel to the upright lake.
Takes foot on concrete, stands once more
Eyes on plates
The ideal assassin of inanimate objects.
Squabbling among fellows
Grovelling in the dirt for a questionable feast.
A grand life for a criminal, although
Petty thievery is hardly deserving of such a notorious title.
And the gull, in all its arrogance, is not pleased.
Not pleased at all.
