There’s a peace in this.
In giving up,
In letting cold darkness
Swell within you.
It’s quiet there,
No more cheers,
No more fanfare,
No more hope.
Hope is heavy and hard to carry
And I had grown so weary already.
No more tomorrows,
No more wishes,
No more lucky stars.
Just the quiet certainty
That this is all you get
No more struggle,
No more fight,
No more fear
Just solitude
And satisfaction.
You were never meant to reach so high,
You’ll never have to fall so low,
It’s a simple life for you,
Alone.

I'm not sure if like is the right word - but a good poem!

I like this too - I'll look forward to reading more of your pieces
"And I had grown so weary already" - should that be in the third person like the rest of the poem?
