The Journey

I walk through the desert road
Waiting for the blows of the world.
And see where the path will lead
Till my feet break down and bleed.
The sun beyond sets ablaze
The ground below my face.
It burns the sand and grains
And makes my life a living craze.
There are no vehicles that I can meet,
No beds where I can sleep
The road gets harder as I go.
How far must I travel? I do not know.
Along the path, I have met the worst
From imps, to trolls, to devil goats.
They’re in my surroundings and in my mind.
I try to escape but still, it’s me they find.
Everyday, I pray for an escape:
An escape from this world where I was placed.
I ask for help from the skies above,
And wait in the sands for an unearthly love.
A hand that will take me from these depths below
To bring me a map that will show.
Another path to take if this one’s wrong.
This path which I have walked so hard and long.
Sometimes I fear that my strength will fall,
But a hand on my shoulder keeps me standing tall.
It’s from a being with strength and might--
Incomprehensible, powerful, and right.
Through this force, I keep on
Through the blizzards, through the fire, through the storm.
With it, I find meaning in this strife
And continue on, walking, waiting to accomplish this journey of my life.
