A Very Short Rumination on My Current Haircut

No matter my age, whenever I go to the barber I’m six years-old.
I just close my eyes and hope for the best. Like a child, I’ll cringe when the scissor gets too close to my ear or I hear the familiar slap of the razor being stroked against the razor strop.
It’s like a mini-adventure.
Will I look Daniel Craig James Bond handsome or Dustin Hofmann Papillon ugly?
How about Paul Newman Cool Hand Luke casual or even Steve McQueen Bullitt rugged?
What I settled for was Pee Wee’s Great Adventure dork.
I over tip the barber so he will not feel bad that my hair length is now on an even keel with the top of my ears. I don’t want him to feel so bad about himself that he goes home and kicks the dog. Or even worse -- give the dog a haircut.
Suffice it to say that my hair is now shorter than its been since my birth on December 17, 1953.
Even barbers get to have bad hair days.
