You snapped my tender fingernails
To prevent me hanging on
You broke my slender wrists
To sweep away your apron
But take a look behind you now
My teeth are buried in your tail
Drag me along till sunset
Drag my bloody trail
Pummel blows my putty face
And crack the cheekbone open
Smash my eyes until they seep
And lips are bloody swollen
But take a look behind you now
I’m rising from the deck
You can lay me out
But I’ll keep coming back
Depress the dreaded button
And let Pandora loose
Among the sprouting mushrooms
And plutonium juice
But take a look behind you now
What is walking from the pyre?
Whatever else that’s breathing now
I’m the last cockroach alive

That's good. Maudsy,
That's good. Maudsy, sometimes when you read something it strikes a chord - or cuts a cord. I was back in my infancy and early childhood here. Not a place I really want to re-visit, but thank you for taking me there.
