I'll just keep chipping away at the sinews
Whittle it all down.
Piece by painstaking piece
to a more manageable size.
Carve out the words from the creaking veins of the wood,
With blood seeping sap.
As my father did.
But the roots go deeper.
The origins, fibrils and interconnections, radicles
To my mutable sign.
C ++
Clear, use, employ, beauty.
Worthy of worship?
Do I adapt or run away?
With my plantpot pate.
Tendrils searching for water.
I touch and it bruises, changes,
Slips from my synapses.
Becomes other.
But always comes back,
Back to me,
To the radicle,
The root of sinew I've chipped away at.
Whittled down,
Piece by agonizing piece.
To a more manageable size.

Another good one London. I
Another good one London.
I always like it when a writer identifies a theme (plant biology/human biology) and develops it to communicate the ideas. "Earth Heart 2" is an excellent example of this in practice.
And then the idea of pre-destiny is enhanced at the end with the mirroring and the repetition of the beginning. One point if I may, I would look again at the double posed question (lines 13/14). Perhaps review this and blend the two into one – just a thought it works beautifully as it stands and congratulations on the cherries too by the way.
