The Betrayal of Luka

Ethereal wings twist through air,
The hum of innocent dragonflies
Escaping the silvered blade that’s raised.
He pins me, knee to my chest.
Black hair falling about his cold, blue eyes.
The knife point down against my throat,
Pierces skin, drawing red.
Somehow the colour shakes him.
As blood drops upon my snow white wings
Fury clears from his eyes,
But hatred had fixed itself firmly in his heart.
The blade shook,
Anxiously awaiting orders,
I drew a ragged breath
“Luka... forgive me.”
Anger broke like a wave across his face.
The sorrow spilling from his eyes,
In warm tears that splash upon my cheeks.
Reluctantly the Knife moved from my neck.
I was left to stare at the impossible blue.
A salty keepsake burned forever on my skin.
