Come walk with me and talk with me
Of cabbages and kings
Because like another author
I’m in the mood for silly things
I want to know if dandelions
Should be made into butter
Or if saying Mississippi ten times
Will really make us stutter
Could you tell me, if to kiss a toad
Will turn him into a prince
I heard that story long ago
And have wondered ever since
While we’re at it, did that cow
Really jump over the moon
Or was it just a delusion
Brought on by a sudden swoon
Then, you can you tell me
What goes bump in the night
Makes our blood run cold
As we shiver in fright
Yes, come walk with me and talk with me
For I am of a mind
For scary things and silly things
If you’d be so kind!

Really liked this, LG and it inspired me to write my 'Trippy Train' poem which I've posted above.
Thanks for a great read.

Hello,
A very enjoyable and light hearted poem. You have, I think a typo in the last line of the third stanza
where you have 'every' when I think it should be ever.
A small point which doesn't detract from the poem at all. Much enjoyed.

Hello again,
Yes was it the first line of the penultimate stanza?
Still it made me read the poem again and it was just as enjoyable as the first time I read it.
