The Lovely Daisy

He’d been going out with Daisy for six weeks and now it was time for the next step, she wanted him to meet her family. He was nervous, more nervous than he’d been in years. He was due at her house in an hours time.
He'd met her at the club one Friday, she was new, he asked her if she would like to dance and she said yes. Daisy was a good dancer, he wasn’t!
Then just a few days later he was at a concert and she was sitting just a few seats away, she was with her friend and he was with his mate, they all went for a drink afterwards.
After a few weeks he summoned up the courage to ask her out and she said yes, he couldn’t believe his luck, his mate had taken a shine to her as well, but Daisy liked him not his mate.
So for the past six weeks they’d gone out about twice a week, pubs mostly, the odd meal and the cinema to see a comedy. Daisy liked a good film.
They’d taken things slowly, no rush, it was only two weeks ago that he got his first kiss. They were having a quiet drink in the pub when she just leaned over and kissed him, just like that, as though it was the most natural thing in the world, he liked the way she kissed, Daisy was a good kisser! Sex hadn’t even been talked about but he was sure it would happen, in time.
Then last week she said she wanted him to meet her family, he wasn’t prepared for that, not yet, but Daisy said it was the right thing to do, she wanted them to like him and she was confident they would. Daisy was sure about it.
He looked in the mirror at himself, he was pleased with how he looked, he hadn’t worn the suit for ages, he’d had it dry cleaned and it fitted him well. Crisp white shirt and a blue tie, couldn’t go wrong with that combination. His black shoes were clean and shiny, his Dad always said “You can judge a man by his shoes”, he’d always remembered that. Daisy would like what he was wearing.
Daisy’s house was about a twenty minute drive away, he’d take the scooter tonight, that way he knew he’d be on time. Couldn’t afford to be late, not today. Daisy liked his scooter.
Ok time to go, one last look in the mirror, yep, perfect. He checked his pockets, keys and money was all he needed.
He opened the door and walked out into the front garden, his transport was there in front of him he climbed on board, he wondered how on earth he managed before he got his mobility scooter!
Off to Daisy’s to meet her four children, her twelve grandchildren and her seven great grand children.
