A meadow
of wild
flowers
seduces her
senses...resistance
impossible,
as their delicateness
and colour,
like a
seductive temptress,
draws her close,
ever nearer
to their wares,
she flits
effortlessly,
succumbed to
the nectar,
a promise of
a honeyed
journey...like
sugar coated
music to my ears,
her gifts
bestowed upon
the queen,
to be harvested,
the sweet...dripping,
pleasurable delights
is all I dream,
so flirt
amongst those
blooms untamed,
working hard but
flying free, like the
skilful honey bee.

Each line just drips, sweet and beautiful, from the page, Jenny. Love the short-line structure - it really works!

Hello there JS.
A nice image.
Not far away from me are beekeepers hidden in a little glade full of wild flowers.
This reminds me of them, all puffing smoke, dressed in white.

I agree with all that has been said, Jenny. I love bees to, but I think they are having a hard time of it this 'summer'.
Well done on this one;-)

Hello there, Jennifer. Not
Hello there, Jennifer.
Not sure how I missed this one as I have always had a soft spot for bees, and of late have found some dead on the floor in my lounge; one or two a day, over about a week now. Such a shame. I think it has been too cold and too wet for them.
This is a lovely poem, which I very much enjoyed.

Absolutely fabulous, Jen,
Absolutely fabulous, Jen, and I wish I had written it. The phrasing is right up my street. It’s all so lovely, but I did pick out one outstanding stanza:
her gifts
bestowed upon
the queen,
to be harvested,
the sweet...dripping,
pleasurable delights
is all I dream
That’s really poignant and a lovely subtle rhyme in there too. Lovely story and I can imagine you observing said bee going about its business while you wrote this. You’ve captured the micro-cycle of life brilliantly. If it is true that you wrote this in the garden while watching the bees at work, I’d like to know where you found the sunshine.
All your writing has improved, Jen, and your poems are fabulous, you’ve got better and better in this so difficult of genres – the power to express yourself in so few words, you do it so well. Nothing grated here, smooth as finest silk. Very well done!

Jenny, This is so lovely and
Jenny,
This is so lovely and I am scared stiff of bees, well more accurately wasps, but I loved this. The words you used were like honey dripping from your wonderful imagination which is a very fine place, I might add, if it can come up with something like this.
Well done to you, Jen
