Oh, thank Nature, we grow older
and too tired to run and play;
tired enough to sit and contemplate
a splendid August day.
Little kids are far too busy
flying to watch a bird in flight
but when their eyes start growing dimmer
they’ll see a world that’s twice as bright.

This is beautiful, but what
This is beautiful, but what good is the sight of wisdom, when we're too old to enjoy it? A lovely poem. I particularly liked the last two lines.

I agree with Sooz. Lovely
I agree with Sooz. Lovely sentiments and philosophy (the wonder of life). I think the smiplicity of this poem and the easy rhyming pattern is its strength. Great stuff, John. Really enjoyed your poems tonight.

PS: I’d prepare a comment for The Dreadful Nightmare, so what happened to it?
