A Tribute to Terry!
Our friend Terry is not how he once was
His limbs no longer support him because
Huntingdon’s like a thief in the night
Has stolen all movement and that’s not right
Strong limbs are now terribly distorted
His eyes look haunted and face contorted
He sits staring at photos on the wall
And thinks how long before I get the call
He wants to give up what’s left of his life
So that he can be once more with his wife
My heart cries out to see his pain
And wanting to be with Sylvia again
I can’t believe it is too big a task
Or, is it not allowed even to ask
To be given a merciful release
From a pain filled life that needs to cease
I’d like to think of him free from his pain
And happy once more with Sylvia again
She smiles down from everywhere in this place
And ‘The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face’
The love song he chose for her funeral
Brings back the memory of her burial
Now overtaken by his own disease
Will no one listen to his heartfelt pleas…
