Farewell

The time has come to split the ways
To tread our separate paths,
Let the memories that go with us
Be of happy times and laughs.
As fond farewells are bidden
Keep sadness from our hearts
And keep in mind the good times
As our lives' new chapter starts.

Though thoughts dwell e'er behind us
Recalling friends met on the way,
Our feet must travel onwards
We can no longer stay.
For on this road we travel
New corners must be turned,
Fresh ways lie there before us
Their secrets to be learned.

Though hearts may now feel heavy
And tears may touch an eye,
Remember the good times and smile
And remember as time passes by,
That maybe one day in the future
Paths separate will come to unite,
With thoughts such as these to sustain us
Our hearts will again feel light.
