where my arm should be
would you hold it against me

If I had a false leg
would you run away

If my lips were glued shut
would you know what i was thinking
or would there be nothing
left to say

If floating in an icy sea
would you make room
on the piano lid
or hold my hand
as I was sinking
would your love be titanic
would it be all around us
a many splendoured thing

Could I have you at hello
or would you even notice
as I said goodbye

Would I conjure words
like dreamy
or sublime
bring light to drudgery
and good for nothing sham

In all the gin joints
in all the world
would you walk into mine
or seeing me there
go next door
frankly
not giving a damn

Would you be willing
if I could not see
to turn a blind eye
to my lack
of personality
good looks
and charm
could you see past
my aesthetic appearance
or would my hunchback
and glass eye
cause an interference
to which you couldnt tune into
no matter how hard
you tried

Really enjoyed this, especially the final stanza. In the penultimate one, 'could you see past my athestic appearance,' did you mean aesthetic?

denni - they are trying to help by pointing out typos. If ms wants to submit this somewhere it will look better if it's typo free. Also if you've taken the trouble to write and post something good here, you want people to concentrate on what you're saying, not the niggling mis-spelling - no?

It makes so much difference in anyone's work when the bits that don't read properly are sorted out and the infuriating holes are filled with Polyfilla - a parrot full of holes eventually falls off its perch. Even professional writers make blunders, so it's nowt to be ashamed of, and there's nothing holier-than-thou in pointing such errors out. Stephen King once made a reference to shooting peasants rather than pheasants until one of his editors pointed it out, and though the former option was deeply amusing it never made it into the book.
