V – Friendship
“Enough talk now, march to the next door and you shall find your cohort there, all in their bunks, tomorrow at six, we shall have our first flying lesson, now go and get some rest, see you in an hour. Oh and by the way, grab a sword and shield and keep them by your side, they shall be your companions, good luck, Blaz.” He turns away and vanishes; somehow his face seems familiar, although I can’t place it. I go and sleep. I get up at the sound of shouting, strangely, I feel fully rested, and even stranger, I’m fully dressed. “I am General Hofniel, which means fighter of God, I am responsible for the twenty fifth cohort of the fifth legion, I shall now explain your equipment for the first and last time, I will not explain again, open your ears.” General Hofniel looked like he came out of a wrestling show or something, he looked like a body builder, with massive wings, he wore a white t-shirt and white jeans. “Firstly, your swords and shields, they can only be seen by angels and angels only. They are made of immaculate steel, and they can stand well against any attacks from the traitor Lucifer. Now, your clothes, they are made of Heavenly cloth and can take any form they want, now you all have a five minute break then get out in the field so we can start flight training. A man pats me in the back, “Hey, you got all that? I’m Rathnael.”
“Blaz, I’m still pretty much confused about everything right now.”
“Oh, so you’re one of those mortals? I’ll explain everything from creation till now if you want.”
“That would be helpful.”
“Well, everything started from this tree, which now stays in the gardens of God, God is, well this powerful being who rules-“
“I’ve met God.”
“Whoa, you met the top gun? Man you must be important then, it’s a rarity that a former mortal is taken to meet Him, usually it’s just Barattiel, or if you’re lucky they take you to Yofiel, ruler of the legions, but never have I heard of anyone being taken to the top gun…anyways, the tree of life created the first being, only the first being can destroy it, therefore destroying creation and recreating everything, it is rumoured that God tries to destroy it everyday, with different means and he never manages to do it, but it’s only a rumour Anyways after the first being came out of the Tree, some say it was God Himself, but no one knows, there has been a lot of uncertainty lately, devil attacks have been getting worse, ever since Rahab; angel of death, destruction and the sea, changed sides, some angels went with him, it is said some of our best fighters left to change sides. Anyways, when this being came out of the tree He created everything, but He is not the superior being, the Tree is, so for everything he created he needed the Tree to approve, and now here we are, fighting against the traitor Lucifer, for all eternity.
“So we do nothing but kill demons for all eternity?”
“Yeah, it’s pretty sad looking at it that way…”
