I closed my eyes and blew the smoke out
And my eyes stayed closed and saw the blackness - Totally black
No glimmer of light at any corner
And I kept my eyes shut and breathed in the blackness - And listened
I had no breath
But heard the sounds of life..
The wind was strong and rattled all around the things that were loose
And I looked again, through eyes that were shut
The blackness still there
I felt happy
My soul was free
And able to see

Good observation on the
Good observation on the different aspects of human perception; and nice sharp language that conveyed it very effectively.

Reminds me of my first joint, fear of the past replaced by acceptance of the now, and the wonderful feeling that the future may not be so scary after all.
I'm a massive fan of your teacher's writing. Did you know she's going to be famous?
Keep writing.
