STRANGE HUNGER

at times we have strange hunger
and by that i mean desire
sometimes its all consuming
like a tree caught in a fire

and should we feed this hunger ?
sometimes no and sometimes yes
but maybe you should leave it
if you feel you have to guess

a hunger to create, perhaps
a hunger to destroy
a hunger to depress yourself
a hunger to enjoy

a hunger for more knowledge
or a hunger to forget
a hunger to seek out someone
that you have never met

at times we have strange hunger
some will starve and some will strive
and some will do most anything
to keep the dream alive
