Sheets ebb and flow.
Your hand finds mine in the linen sea
And my toes splay against your ankles like algae.
You hold me to you against the riptide of my thoughts and I swear
this MUST mean
Something.
You always let go too soon.
I know you are not
Sinking
But I believe I am. How strange it is that we always swim towards
The most unstable rafts
To save us.

Really good Paige. My only
Really good Paige. My only teeny quibble regards the capitalisation of 'must'. Fantastic imagery in the third line. Thanks for posting.

This is one of those poems
This is one of those poems with the atmosphere and strength to make me audiably exclaim 'wow'. Lovely imagery. And I agree, it is strange how we swim toward the most unstable rafts to save us. Brilliant ending that just jumps out. Innes x
