The crocodile is a saurian amphibious reptile,
from belief The Nile species they say it wept-tears while devouring or to allure its victims,its sly eyes as it lies,in the water the elongated body. No movement you would think it was doped with ether. Then snap it will rise to the surface unexpectedly for air,slow and slinky crawl along on earth and land.
The submarine was coming back from war,Captain Joe
bringing his Navy men back many wounded on the war ship,wearing their Navy uniforms. He had said "up periscope" as he looked could see the crocodile as if asleep lying there!
Sailors some been rejoicing war was over,having tots of rum,in the mess all bit squiffy.
celebration on board there was 'Dame Vera Lynn'
singing 'Where Meet Again'. Some of the men,having
a fag or roll up,baccy tap ends on baccy tin before
smoking. Nicotine fingers deeply stained. Nerves worry shattered. Most handing out John Players cigarettes. Sausage rolls,corn beef sandwiches on tin plates,and mugs used for tea with brandy in for shock! The officers pipped the captain as he and all that could,walk made it down the gangplank carrying their kit bags. Screams,hugs tears and laughter bit,people wanted to touch the Sailors collar known thing for luck.
As captain called all their names out previously,five wandered of to the beach, Horatio Nelson Michael Peter and George, suffered memory loss,they thought if they got to the beach to paddle their feet,and bathe their wounds would release their pain.
Wounded disorientated. Thinking they were back in the desert walking through a mirage.
Another platoon of soldiers all had such a terrible time fighting. Crawling on their bellies,and covered in camouflage.
So delighted to see the sun shining,in the bright sky! Captain Joe had to save his men,only one alternative. Commanded to shout fire! five times,shot the crocodile.
Planes coming home, flying over head,from a smokey atmosphere wind howling,the illuminated silvery moon showing a light for all. Dan the pilot switched on his radio it was playing the Theme from the Damn Busters. Those that could met their loved ones waving on the quay.
Babies dressed in all sailor suits,and children.
Everyone waiting to go to a tent,have a nip of brandy in tea for shock! and to warm them up. Captain Joe had laid on ambulances Dr's and nurses.
S O S been sent off.
But of course my belated pop! was a Navy man to,but never met a crocodile.
Two of pops sons also in the Navy. All been on H.M.S Aircraft carriers. One was Ark Royal now gone! In dock once. Another H.M.S. Bulwark. I think pop! was on H.m.s. Victorious. We had one photo of him,went missing in uniform,wish I had one so smart. Shoes polished,hats right angle. Decks washed down,bunk beds made,time was punctuality.
MP David Cameron wants to cut everything down,think all should be increased for safety of the future.
I remember pop! making his models of them.
If we had a holiday,mine loved to see exhibition and pictures of the war but when the sound of the sirens went,I couldn't stand memories from a child my hands still go over my ears. Once had narrow escape here with my mum then,I was only about 6-7 years old going for appointment,Royal Alexandra Hospital,this awful noise,my mum threw me down on the ground a plane could have been a Mezzaschmidt,or doodle bug landed just missed us.
Hit the wall of St.Nicolas Church.
We were then coming out dark but high Arcade Brighton that was frightening enough,
for the bus up the hill.
But wars are still continuing lives are lost!
Pray for peace to reign one day.
This is a fiction story! Some of it.

new Highat Letter ugh! hah! hah! Gee! thanks. I lost piece paper added onto, most is true! apart from crocodile. I didn't want to over do it,but make it interesting. Bring in the five names ethos air fire earth water. Cheated looked up mythical and meanings,of elements etc; Have done Crocodile Tears before,one on Sailor. So wanted not repeated. Thought of stars! fortune telling horoscopes got stuck. Oh! silly me sorry photo is not you,should have recognized the face and hat! Boy George. Well that was and poem, Birthday surprise extra from daughter and son in law,haven't worn much yet! Like a cat one get biggest reading,not dress one. Top at moment. I was a war time baby born,one brother older me,four younger. Soldier's used go by in army lorries cheering! and stopped over some shops convoys think. It was weird to go to local museum few years,back and all on display like I have put here,and paper with plane in etc; bound to get feedback state things wrong. Soldier's mainly ones on ground and cam camouflaged don't think Sailor's so much. It wasn't the 1st war of course. Dad was in. We visited him on Aircraft he was on,at Portsmouth then and family young. Before going to sea. Brothers used all meet up way back and go with pop! pub and pals, End up in the toilet merry! with telephone book singing songs,as sat on toilet,no hot water,light then switch put on wrong way! laugh outside toilets no light garden,ration books,no food shortage feed. Camp schools we went undernourished families, open schools,and swimming pools mixed girls and boys, illnesses. Dormitories. So you like Boy George good. T.V Had the Rolling Stones on,and Marianne Faithful going back. Well you could put photo on of yourself. all the best. Keep writing like discussions you do. well it has come up now under non-fiction. It's definitely not cheating looking things up on the internet or in a dictionary or encyclopaedia- that's called research- wll writers do it and I should do it more. I hope you have fond memories of those camps? My Mum had rationing books too when I was a baby- 50's in Denmark. new Highhat Swell! yes please many thanks. My heart went blip! saw registered new comment. I am truly surprised see looking back what have done. But through reading others. ~Well used to cut up ration books,play with shops on till,tin cash child's till at home. Some exchanged for clothes or rocking horse. From neighbour at home then,could ask cup of sugar shilling for gas or eggs. Someone on Abctales may have been Silver-Spun-Sand keep smiling! True even in all adversity,out then they think nothing happens to you,strange world,listen to them important. Three out of six got in family. But we were poor and animals. Are you near Netherlands,new Queen Beatrice abdicating for her oldest son take over,April. Well pointless in a way killing of any kind. No not written while,brain goes blank! keys I may hit wrong. There was beautiful cat the other night,Jazz cries,waits come in,then the bell double glazing at night! look out window. Back come Jazz chats,to me cries,soon as master's back,he cries or jumps downs from Rays lap,or in bed,found him,lay beside him be massaged umm! loves it,wander back and sits on top swing chair,waiting Ray to get up or return. He knows. This is mainly true! parts are thrown in. Just come back from singing not been two weeks! Thrilled see comments,and also one from t.cook (Tony) Editor. Not properly writing yet! I'm very trying! trying? You keep writing,get ideas from all of you. What is the weather like! Spent an hour jotting down about an asteroid feb: 15th won't hit earth,now it says will,but all on the news,axle Asteroids are potential gold mines,materials which could be mined,on earth or on space stations. This be 150ft wide think! Not see by naked eye,only seen in Australia Asia binoculars. What next! new Editor tcook Hi (Tony) Wow! Thanks for the great compliment. It is a one off,mixed with sub-marine, Aircraft carriers so more interesting and fixed in crocodile. But mostly true! Pop! and brother's in the Navy not all together war. Apart from sub-marine,don't think Sailor's went on,used dictionary. Found the Aircraft Carriers yesterday on the web,exciting. Not sure if goes under Historical Fiction category. No had block head,so many good writers on here. Three of us been unwell,back to singing just got in,missed two weeks. Ray still not good. Have get out though. Any advice on this,be most thank full,all the new headings baffle me! Hope your all well. Of course it crashed out,thought emails sent why! no replies from about things to four people,that have cropped up. Or me and mistakes I make. Many reads I didn't want to repeat myself,fitting all in extra's. from scraps could be out of line order. Keep warm,many thanks. Very strong wind out. Just got letter,state Pension increase under £2. Jazz is a lovely cat and you are so fond of him. Weather here is cold and dark but soon more daylight and Spring. Quite a way away from Netherlands- about 600 miles northeast I think. A Long way. Haven't travelled for years. Was in USA in 1997 and Greece in 1998- haven't been anywhere since then. you keep warm and snug as a bug Julie ;)Pia

new Highhat Hello! just got back singing,high wind urrr! Yes,an astounding cat,seems to know when where not well,looks for Ray in the chair not there follow me into other room if in bed,lay beside him,Ray massages him. Comes back front room,balancing on top of his swing chair,waiting Ray,but radiator there,so swing chair out bit with him on. 'Jazz'and I have our own kind of language,you know hello! Miaow! how are you. Cry certain noise,say is that you 'Jazz' your master be back soon. Miaow! think I read somewhere catawolling something like that sometimes,so I dash to the door,there he is. Bit Siamese think. Owner let's me have in,know about poems,always ask,my last t shirt,done one of 'Jazz' came out well,was Jessops As said think! If hears master's car cry! up and gone. If can't get paw round inner door cry! again come on! Not truly writing yet! But switched on get in,three lovely comments,one from Editor t.cook (Tony) my word it's boosted me,just been singing. new Tom Brown. Thanks for comment. It is a bit disjointed so am I,No not really. Amphibious=lives on land or water. 'Saurian' Lizards, Crocodiles,etc; I used dictionary,make story stand out. So many use big words,don't know meanings! Find new words myself explain what talking about,real life! Not time to work it out,sitting too long? It is based on true facts,my life part from tv film and rest thrown in on belated pop! Navy man. Make all more interesting. True! If look dictionary up, never used before,give big words help for expression. Film "Up Periscope" think only sub-marine has believe. Thanks. Don't work on my work,scribble,and type on. New lavadis Wow! Made my day. Lost comment to you. No glasses on. True on life! belated pop! Navy man,not crocodile. Done one on,Abctales asked re-change,let him. Plus two brothers out of family six went in Navy. Other was t.v. programm think spelt wrong, mixed it all up. Dictionary,explanation of words. February 21st year to the day,big mechanical shop fall,on way back from my first morning 'Singing For Pleasure'so got toast,to all,exact time home toasted, happened and Editor t.cook (Tony). Paid for our singing our groups,so not done,anything much on here. We hope to be The Wheat sheaf London,'Singing' all of us one of same days,Ray travel after singing group, with me. As all in our,Sing-a-long four groups. Music Conductor Director,'Simon Gray'. No reading music great! I can't anyway. Theatre Shows coming up go to. Many go to! In. 'Singing For Pleasure'. Post day before,February 20th. Wish came true! I hoped,also three more,special thanks,sent and photos! Next day February 21st 2013 date of accident,toasted all 4.30pm here Ray out! All help. Wow! Thrilled! Popped nip 'Peach Wine'Ray's to neighbour for his wonderful hero! cat 'Jazz' in beside me,over fall then,'Two Lovely Black Eyes" cuts bruises etc. always in here,my hero. "Do you still recognize me I said" Meow! Meow! Means yes! Before let him out then,and took to bed! Ray stopped in three days, only 'Jazz' came everyday on one of beds. "Come again" and he does". Take life every everyday as it comes,whatever is handed out know one knows what,is around the corner,or have to deal with do we. Always some far worse,do what you can. And if it turns out too repetitive you could have Tony or someone do an abridged version. Sorry I've been so quiet I'm out of town, in the bush having a roaring time. Taking a proper break. new Nolan Thanks lovely comments. Written and scribbled in haste. Not written for a while. Busy 'singing for pleasure' year now! Show got to mother's day, Sunday daughter bought ticket and coming,be lovely. Next week back to singing with groups,different places. Ready for all in,lots of songs,taught Music Director conductor Simon Gray no music,plays and sings,we have all the words many March 23rd. I did one before,on the Crocodile Tears, someone helped re-arrange that was kind I accepted. So with the cut backs,Aircraft carriers taken out HMS Ark Royal brother once on in Royal Navy,and another on aircraft Bulwark Navy. Belated pop! Royal Navy HMS Victorious,something like that,when I was small. We go Portsmouth on deck with mum and dad and family. Also done couple on my dad so wanted it refreshed! Bit is TV program,learn by everything is absolutely true! or watch about war,or at moment. Not the crocodile course. Use dictionary big word,or know to compare meaning,or read other's works when time for a word maybe. Practice Tuesday and Wednesday March 20th so we will travel London after The Wheat sheaf. Hope your enjoying paradise,we all need that,space sometimes. Mention fire bush,do you mean Australia,we have a friend out there,we hear from. World changing so fast! Yes,you get doing poetry. Watched war films,how they have too some crawl on their stomaches etc; belated pop! Navy man probably end of the 2nd war! I remember bits too,and two brother's later. Royal Navy,Merchant Navy have forgotten. I already wrote one on 'Croco dile Tears' Abc writer helped so much,re-doing parts. Another about Atmosphere,so made up Croco dile,must admit,quite pleased with it,mentally remembering. Didn't get to London did you go? Keep warm,wind cuts through one! Hello Julie, Sorry it's been so long since I got here problems with Lincoln my dog and the Parkinson's play. I think this is the first piece of prose I've read of yours and what a delight it was. I was trying to work out how you knew so much about life on board a ship but then I remembered your father was a seamen like my grandfather. I still have his book of signing off sheets when he completed each trip and apparently he was a sober conscientious man. He often worked on ships belonging to the White Star line which I believe was the company that owned The Titanic. Well done on this piece, Julie My bestest Moya

Hello Julie. Nolan asked to say, “Please send my warm and fond regards to Julie, Uncle Ray, their daughter and son-in-law and the cat Jazz. See you later alligator! After awhile crocodile!” That's my brother. Frivolous he's got the mind of a child really. He says they've got really big cats there but don't send the grandson to cuddle he'll be lunch. Although you will get some good footage. Best not play too near the water either he'll just disappear underwater and some bubbles will be the last you'll see. Faithfully yours, Tom Brown P.S. You can make your own periscope all you need is a thick cardboard tube and two small mirrors. Then you can spy on the enemies next door.

Just seen,normally at 'Singing for pleasure' Tuesday but we have break,week, also nursing back! trouble lifting,spring cleaning and windows,fine long time,have have high seats buses and trains,old injury,bike week now toddling about. But furious as Uncle Ray knew!! back gone,captain Snooker and Bowls summer,wanted some spring clean,I'm furious,tell me they need some clean windows,yes I swore,loudly! "Don't swear at me anyone would have.Because off went regardless like that! Out playing sometimes. Shops for me good,but does things others now retired heart, and goes homes if job needed but me well another big story. Tell Nolan your brother big cats still circulating! Send best wishes to Nolan and you,I am like a kid myself sometimes! age is immaterial. Also say cold weather not see 'Jazz' 12 days. Nolan's heading for the sea now Julie. And he's got a new golden retriever puppy “Victoria” he said he wants to match her to Jazz. Nolan said he's now worked enough, from now on he's on holiday. Lucky bastard.

Maybe Nolan's on a cruise bit expensive. Strange mine! only go me book market sunday cheap,first page of H.M. Queen Victoria,threw out two amazing books. Colour plates many most Royalty,all written on back stories applying to photos,from by belated pop! Never seen anymore like it.
