And look at the mess we're in

You left before I could say I blame you
For the lives you undid, the pills you threw down your throat.
Your charcoal-drenched philtrum, a molten black moat;
Your paper skin, tiny hands clenched, knuckles poking out like broken asphalt;
You left,
Before I could say I love you,
And I'm sorry for all of this.
The arcs of yellowed sweat on your pillow, a remnant of your winter's sleep;
The depression that continued for a season;
The jumper you never changed; the one with the roses on, the one that smelt of moss.
You left before I could say damn you, just god damn you for all of this,
And look at the mess we're in.
And look at the mess we're in,
Just god damn you for all of this, you left before I could say damn you.
The jumper you never changed; the one with the roses on, the one that smelt of moss;
The depression that continued for a season;
The arcs of yellowed sweat on your pillow, a remnant of your winter's sleep;
I'm sorry for all of this,
Before I could say I loved you,
You left.
Knuckles poking out like broken asphalt, tiny hands clenched, your paper skin;
A molten black moat, your charcoal-drenched philtrum.
The pills you threw down your throat, the lives you undid -
Before I could say I blame you, you left.
